Cleitor

From the ancient city of Cleitor, situated on flat ground between two rivers, you can still see a few paltry remains of the city walls with a few towers, as well as the remains of the theater (with difficulty recognizable as such). Cleitor once belonged to the most important cities of Arcadia, played a major role in the history of that region, and was inhabited until late antiquity. The city lay in a plain surrounded by mountains, so the name can probably be interpreted as “The Enclosed”.
