Byzantine Museum Athens

The Byzantine Museum in Athens (Leoforos Vasilissas Sofias) is the only museum in the world that is entirely devoted to Byzantine art and industry. It is housed in a 19th century villa. The level of the exhibits is on the whole very high. Many beautiful icons are on display, as well as an interesting collection of Byzantine sculpture and murals of crumbling or demolished monasteries.
